24k Crystal Gold

Steven Kretchmer's 24 Karat Crystal Gold is a unique line of jewelry constructed from a ninety-five percent platinum alloy blended at our studio, heat-treated to be as hard as stainless steel, and 24 karat fine gold. The fine gold is painstakingly inlayed into a deep engraving. When first inlayed, the gold is etched to create a contrasting finish with the platinum and appears crystalline.

Fine gold is extremely soft, and in a short while it will begin to age and take on its own unique character. These are the natural qualities of the precious metals we work with, and the timeless aspects we take advantage of to create Steven Kretchmer’s art.
